Garrett Paul Soileau

Posted:  September 12, 2019

Garrett Paul Soileau, 22, was tragically killed in a single car crash on December 15, 2017 as his vehicle tire hit a median curb which caused his truck to flip several times before hitting a tree. He was not wearing his seat belt.

Garrett was a rugby player and mechanical engineering senior at Arkansas State University. Here are some words from his mother, Christi: “Garrett Soileau was an incredible young man with a love for life and a passion for the game of rugby. He had a zest for life like we have never witnessed before. He gave of himself to everyone and made this world a better place. In his short 22 years, he accomplished more than most people do in a lifetime. He traveled across the country playing a sport he loved and made lifetime friendships with everyone he came across. He looked at the positive in people and in life and was always willing to give a helping hand. His smile, great bear-like hugs, laugh and incredible personality are greatly missed. Garrett will never get the opportunity to make his dreams a reality. Please don’t make a mistake that could cut your dreams short.”
